We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. I can just feel the texture.
I'm new at pastels and I'm very envious of your talent.
Whenever I try to make something,
it gets messy, and everything smears around too much to really make any fine details like you did.
Any advice?

Have you used a paper with heavy tooth?
If not try one of these - [link] , [link]
It's also important to build up from hard pastels to soft being the last ones you use.
